Confession is like a colonic

My fist confession today is, the choice Senator John McCain chose for his Vice President running mate this day. This was my experience; I was doing some work here at my PC, when I checked the New York Times and read where the Senator had picked his running mate for Vice President.
I found myself full of joy and wonder. My heart leaped within me. This is very odd for me to respond this way, in political “stuff”. But that is what happened. My response was unsympathetic to my personal emotional control.
So what is the way out of this emotion and what if any, does it mean? Perhaps nothing.
So here’s the deal. At the end of this blog is a comment section. Confess something here, anything (please nothing vulgar) make up a name…..whatever. Just get it off your chest.
I know expressing my political view here will find some put off by all this. Well God bless America. The privilivge of conscience and expressing in words or pen, men and women have given their lives that you and I can express our views. It is a gift of God.
We do not have to be handcuffed in our voice, though my second confession is; I am a people pleaser, or as the Holy Scripture proclaims, the “fear of man“.
I have made this choice from a self centered fear of not getting what I want or fear of losing what I have. The fear of man is a thief. I am not a victim here, a willing conspirator with fear. In biblical language it is called Idolatry.
Thank God, there is a remedy Jesus gives me, forgiveness and repentance. How many times can I be forgiven, 7 times 70 in spiritual language. What this means to earth suited people is; just keep multiplying until you no longer have to do it. When I no longer have to do it, I am given the gift of repentance.
Who will be our Next President and Vice President of the United States?
Confess and profess.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (Amplified Bible) says it this way-
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
