The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. For three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. 23 When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah. [e] ) 24 So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?”
My Uncle Briggs was a Calvinst in doctrine and theology. When he fell down the stairs in the church and broke his leg, he said. “I am glad I got that over with”.
So what does photography has to do with God’s 2% doctrine. You the reader perhaps nothing. Well its an issue for me. My world view has been; here on planet earth exists the spiritual and the secular.
I have changed my mind about this. Its all spiritual. It is only secular on a personal level if I chose to look at, believe in and live out my life from this world view. All my circumstances in life and how I think about life will be affected based on my world view.
Have you ever gone on a photography shoot and forgot your gaffer’s tape, flash card, showed up the wrong day for a photo shoot. A friend of mine just has his motorcycle stolen right in front of his nose while he sleep in the hotel room. I am not suggesting we forget about planning and checklist, but these “things” happen even when the best of planning is done.
I love the story of God’s people having GOD’S STROBE LIGHT, LIGHT THEIR WAY and GOD’S BREATH BLOW THE SEA APART TO LET HIS PEOPLE ESCAPE BONDAGE. No duct tape or Justin clamps needed here to add composition. Wow, how would you like to have God be your assistant on a shoot like that! Talk about an

Now to God’s 2% doctrine. It’s like this, I plan, but sometimes I plan the results with expectations far above reality. It draws me back to the “bitter water” question.
It’s one thing to know/be known by God, another to know His ways, which at times, I am subject to intemperance and muddle along in the dark.
So I try to let God jump out my preconceived doctrines (prejudice/strongholds) and be generous in giving God His 2%. That seems fair.
In the ancient lineage of former Vice Presidents Al Gore’s family, I heard a rumor one of his relatives who drank that water, resulted in resentment.
